The Educated Pet® Supplemental Obedience and Socialization (SOS) Program

Does your dog ignore you when you ask him to follow a simple command?  Are you wearing yourself out trying to give your dog enough play time?  Does your furry friend need more time socializing with his canine buddies?  Maybe it's time to send him to school.  Our supplemental obedience and socialization program gives your dog personalized help in all of these areas.

Our program provides a unique combination of fun and training that you will not find elsewhere in San Diego.  The dogs have a wonderful time and receive private, one-on-one tutoring all in the same day.

While your dog spends quality, supervised time playing with his canine buddies, our trained staff ensures that all play is appropriate and safe. The staff helps the dogs to develop excellent social skills, and to play nicely with others.  It is important for different sized dogs to learn to interact with each other in a gentle and friendly manner so we have a mix of large and small dogs.

During the course of each day, each dog receives two private training sessions with one of our highly-trained staff members. In each of these sessions, the staff works on all of the basic obedience commands. We also incorporate problem solving that allows us to work on any area of training that you, the owner, is having particular difficulty with. These specific problems have included: the dog releasing items on command, not jumping when greeting people, being able to walk past other dogs on leash politely, among many others.

We also take each dog outside on two training walks per day. This allows the dogs some fresh air and potty time, and it is during this time that we work on proper leash manners.

At the end of each day, every dog receives a report card that allows our staff to communicate exactly what the dog's strengths and weaknesses were for that day and to keep our owners fully informed of their dog's progress.

S.O.S is not intended as a substitute for classes, nor for the owner working with their dog. We designed it as an enrichment program to help owners and their pets achieve a higher level of communication.

The dogs go home tired, and with better manners. Our goal is always happy dogs and happy owners!
